ROOM #1- Walk to everything- the Riverwalk and restaurants, downtown festivals, coffee shops, art galleries, clubs, and the lively Castle Antique District. We offer a beautiful private bedroom with private en suite bath (shower and deep soaking tub) with fireplace, floor to ceiling plantation-shuttered window, refrigerator, flat screen TV, and private Victorian porch. Room #1 has blinds and beautiful silk drapes for darkening. Iron and ironing board available. We serve healthy continental breakfast in your room or on the porches, any time between 8 and 10AM, featuring fresh steaming coffee and assorted teas, fresh fruit, juice, yogurt, and our warm signature muffins baked fresh daily. You choose from a menu of fresh choices every morning of your stay. Newly renovated 1870 downtown home with gleaming antique heart pine floors. The house recently won a Historic Preservation Award from the City of Wilmington (May 2013). "Green" renovation elements include tankless hot water for unlimited hot water supply, and insulated walls (interior and exterior) for comfort and quiet. We offer a complimentary 5PM "wine and..." to get your evening off to a great start (creamy chai is an evening specialty on cool winter nights). Beautiful private porch area and comfortable outdoor furniture for relaxing. Bedroom #1 has ceiling fan, reading lamp, wall mounted tv, room darkening plantation blinds, subdued lighting, luxe bed. Guest rooms (2) are on the first floor, beautifully appointed, and very private (hair dryer and soap provided). House is quiet, relaxed, and inviting. Offstreet and free on street parking. Downtown historic trolley less than a block away. Public transportation right at the corner. (Airport transportation provided free 8AM-8 PM). We are 3 blocks from the Cape Fear River and beautiful sunsets. The Castle Street municipal boat ramp is 3 blocks away. (We have enough parking to accommodate a small boat.)
